Cavalier Drive School will be hosting an in-person grade primary orientation session on Monday, June 1st from 12:30pm to 1:45pm. Please park on the street. School buses will be in the parking lot at 1:45pm and would be blocking your exit if you were in the parking lot.
Parents and children are asked to come through the front door. Students will go to the gym where they will be given nametags and divided into groups. Pre-Primary students will be brought down to the gym by their teachers. Parents will go to the lunchroom after their children are settled. Students will participate in a short Physical Education class, a short Music class and go to the classroom for activities and a snack.
After the children have gone with the teachers, there will be a short information session for parents in the lunchroom. Following the meeting, parents are welcome to stay in the lunchroom or leave the school and return at 1:45pm. All students will be brought back to the lunchroom for pick-up at 1:45pm.
Please send an email to our Administrative Assistant, Cindy Harroun charroun@hrce.ca to confirm whether or not your child will attend the orientation and what your plan is for dismissal.
Examples include:
a) We are leaving with our child at 1:45pm.
b) We are signing out an older sibling at 1:45pm.
c) I would like my child to return to their Pre-Primary class and attend Excel as per our normal routine.
Note: The snack will be Animal Crackers. We will have a gluten free cracker available as well. Please let us know if your child is sensitive to gluten or has any other food allergies.
